Worldictionary – A Handy Dictionary App for Travelers

I am frequent traveler who love to travel in luxury and relax in style. However, I always have this apprehension about traveling to non-English speaking countries. Last month I visited France and Germany and the language problem began to taunt me again.

Hopelessly I searched the App Store for a solution and found Worldictionary. After reading all those descriptions, it looked to be a promising app. However, I installed it just to give it a try as I was not fully convinced. Now, Worldictionary has become as an inseparable companion to my phone. I like to mention one of the most impressive features of this iPhone app – users don’t need to type to get the meaning of the words.

Worldictionary Screen Shot

Users can get the meaning or translation of the word, just by snapping a picture of the text and then pointing the word in focus one by one. This app supports almost all the top languages used in the world’s major commercial activities. Users can google the word straight from the app and also can get related Wikipedia references. That is something great to hear! Other hot features

  • Whole sentence translation.
  • Automatically saves search records.
  • Provide Google/Wikipedia/YouTube Search
  • Additionally provides anti-shake function to get better image quality.

There are many dictionary apps, translator apps, search engine apps in the App Store. However, Worldictionary impresses users by combining all the features from these three to enhance its functionality. This app scores a full 10 out of 10 in my books. I must say it would be a handy companion for people like me who love to travel a lot. I will be visiting Thailand next month and I hope Worldictionary would help me a great deal there.:)

New iPhone News Today with Tim Cook

Were hearing that October 14th is the new iPhone 5 release date and that all Apple Stores will open at 7AM and some to close at midnight for a massive first day of sales.

I good guess on new iPhone price structure is that there will be a 64GB iPhone 4S that will cost $299 with the new iPhone 4S 32GB will cost $199, and the new iPhone 4S 16GB will drop down to $99 in the United States. The 8GB new iPhone 4 should cost $49. A free new iPhone 3GS on contract seems to be an announcement we’ll hear today.

This new iPhone 4S phone will  the new Apple A5 processor, and an eight megapixel camera. The Nuance speech-to-text addition will be a sweet feature that will likely steal the show today. We will see the new iPhone also include 1GB of RAM. The new iPhone will also include the breakthrough Assistant feature voice activated.  Apple Stores are also planning overnights for October 13th.

New iPhone 5 Assistant

The Apple new iPhone 5 will include the voice activated assistant. This new iPhone 5 release is scheduled to be announced on the Apple campus in Cupertino, CA on October 4th. It will be Tim Cooks first official product release as the new CEO of Apple.

Analyst confirms the new iPhone 5

It is looking much clearer that the new iPhone 5 coming out in a few weeks is being even more confirmed by J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz. This analyst has weighed in claiming that Apple will indeed be releasing a new iPhone 5 models: the first one will be a redesigned new iPhone 5 and an economical iPhone 4-plus focused on the Chinese iPhone marketplace and should be also available for the US.
J.P.Morgan’s research suggests the new iPhone 5 will be based on a simple, thinner design factor that will be both GSM and CDMA capable. This new iPhone 5 will be a world phone but not LTE-capable. The analyst also states that the new iPhone 5 will have a bigger retina display which will likely be wider that 3.5 inches and you should also expect an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash.

The iPhone 4-plus device is expected to be based on the current iPhone and subsume the iPhone 3GS as the lower-end offering. Mr. Moskowitz thinks it could target one or more network carriers in China, but is unlikely to be exclusive to the region.
The only concrete evidence of the new iPhone 5 has come in the form of third-party cases based on a claimed leaked design document for the device. We expect Apple will be releasing both models of the new iPhone 5 and it looks like the iPhone 5 release date will be in October.  Moskowitz is inferring that Apple will be launching two separate models and with an expectation of a new iPhone 5 completely redesigned.

Vocre new iPhone app

This is a brilliant new iPhone app that translates conversationally without any lag or delay. Watch the video above, and you can see how quick and allows the conversation to flow freely without taking the time to type words you don’t know how to spell in a search box.

New iPhone App Controller for iPad

A new iphone app called Joypad allows users to play iPad games on the Apple TV.  After you download the Joystick new iPhone app it will connect to your iPad with a Bluetooth connections. Once the connection has been made you can then push the game from your iPad to the Apple TV using Airplay. The new iphone app will then become  a controller for your iPad. Pretty cool.

Of course, you will need an iPad, iPhone 5 and Apple TV to get this to work but it looks like it works very well in the YouTube demo.

Now Someone lost the iPhone 5 prototype in another bar

What is going on over at Apple with it’s iPhone 5 testing outside of Apple headquarters?  Guess what? Another Apple worker has forgotten where they left a prototype iPhone 5. Oops it was at a Mexican lounge called Cava 22. This is Mexican restaurant and bar in San Francisco’s Mission District, according to CNET:
A day or two after the new iPhone 5 was lost at San Francisco bar an  Apple representatives contacted San Francisco police to file a missing iPhone 5 report. Still very unclear about how much Tequilla the employee had been drinking before he lost the new iPhone 5 device. We’ sure like to know more and see some photos.
Apple knows how to track it’s iPhone 5 so why can’t they just track their employees in bars where these precious devices go missing?  Read the rest of this entry »

WSJ reports on a Sprint iPhone 5

The WSJ reports that Sprint is the No. 3 U.S. mobile carrier that will now be able to help Apple add another iPhone channel of sales to its treasure chest of profit. The iPhone 5 release is still expected , to be in October but Apple will be too late to include to the new iPhone 5 sales in Apple’s fiscal fourth quarter, which ends in September. Sprint will get both the new iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4 which is a huge breakthrough for the struggling mobile phone carrier.

Sprint has over 52 million subscribers and many of them are expected to buy the new iPhone 5 once it is released. Sprint will begin selling it at the iPhone 5 release in mid-October, closing a huge hole in the No. 3 U.S. carrier’s lineup and giving Apple another channel for selling its popular phone. Landing the new iPhone 5 is a big win for Sprint and in history will likely reveal that it saved the company or least help it turn the company and keep their customer base loyal.
